THE HUNT
If you are looking for a relaxing hunting experience, full of excitement and fun, it's hard to beat a good Texas dove hunt, and CTX Guided Hunts offers excellent opportunities on these gamebirds. These little gray ghosts provide excellent recreational opportunities for corporate groups, family excursions or just weekend fun with a group of buddies looking to burn some gunpowder.
HUNTING LOCATION
Most of our dove hunts are just south of Putnam, TX. We mostly hunt over sunflower and dove weed fields. These birds feed in these fields, providing great wing shooting opportunities. Though it can be highly variable, our dove hunts include the shooting of mourning dove, whitewings, and Eurasian collared dove.
WHAT TO BRING WITH YOU!
CLOTHING: Camo shirt, blue jeans, boots, dove vest or belt.
Guns/Ammunition: Either 20 or 12 gauge is sufficient for most of our spots. We recommend an improved cylinder. We also suggest using 2 3/4 inch 7 1/2 shot dove load.
License/Stamps: Each client MUST have a Texas Hunting License and a Federal Migratory Bird Stamp and Hunters Education Card.
SEASON
The season in our zone begins September 1st but we only offer hunts through September 15th
